Aiden Schnell grew up in Southwest Michigan playing Old-time and Folk music, spending much of his time studying both bluegrass and clawhammer banjo, mandolin, guitar, and vocal performance.
Aiden has been involved in multiple community bands and professional projects including The Water Street Wranglers, who have performed at many theaters, festivals, and clubs throughout the midwest and east-coast. Aiden has also preformed with banjo innovator Greg Liszt (Crooked Still) who he met while studying at the esteemed Berklee College of Music, where in the professional music major, he has spent his time refining his guitar proficiency and expanding his knowledge of American roots music.
Aiden is currently teaching at Winchester Community School of Music and Passim School of Music, and he is also working on a number of recording projects featuring some of his original music with The Water Street Wranglers, as well as a number of very exciting projects which he will be announcing soon!
Aiden’s primary guitar influences are Tony Rice, John Carlini, David Grier, and Django Reinhardt, along with song writing influences that include Gordon Lightfoot, John Prine, and Rhiannon Giddens.
